One of the most asked question is what do you do for AC checkup? Do I need it?
An air conditioner checkup is an important part of making sure your system is functioning like it should to prevent breakdown when you need it most. The air conditioning will run just find even with multiple problems but it will lead into bigger problems, sometimes the entire system will need to be replaced.
Here are the most common checkups that the technician will do:
-Check for proper refrigerant levels. Low levels indicate a leak that needs to be found and repaired immediately. The system will run longer to cool your house with low refrigerant levels, it will burn out your compressor, resulting in the most costly repair when it comes to A/C, period.
-Inspect all electrical wiring for loose connections, components and controls to make sure they’re working properly. When it comes to electrical, a loose connection will arc and cause wiring burnout
-The most common components that fail in middle of the summer is capacitor, this can be tested and replace if the capacitance is out of range.
-Inspect evaporator and condenser coils. Dirty evaporators and coils will increase energy consuming and will lead to prematurely failures
-Lubricate motors as needed.
-Calibrate thermostat
-Inspect condenser for any possible problems.
-Inspect, clean, and/or replace filters. A dirty air filter will cause the evaporator coil to freeze up could leads to major compressor's failures
-Check the temperature of the system to ensure the system is operation with specs. By checking the temperature the technician will determine the system is performing
